I can't believe I haven't written since Sunday!! All of you who reads this day to day were bored!!! Well, LOTS have happened since Sunday. On Monday, Zachary had a Dr. appt. at Children's Medical Center. We went to the appt. and ended up being admitted because his hemaglobin was too low. He got a transfusion last night that brought it up significantly and then another smaller one today. I can't believe how pink he is!!!!! He's NEVER been this pink before. He see's the hematologist next week to begin some work-up as to what is causing him to breakdown his red blood cells. He's been eating like a horse today!! Kimberly and Les are taking a few well deserved minutes to go out to dinner. I'm staying with him here in the hospital. I'll spend the night tonight since Les has to go home and go to work tomorrow. He's such a great dad!!! Kimberly's a great mom also. Zachary is such a sweetheart also. He's just had a rough time getting started. We're just praying that the Lord gives much wisdom to the Dr. next week and that the blood will keep him going or help him to jumpstart his own production of RBC's. I hope you all have a great day and more updates later.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Hey all, Well here we are tonight-the last night to stay with the kids maybe. I'll miss it!!!!!! Tomorrow is Dr. day and we hope to see the hematologist but I bet that will be later in the week. We'll let you know how things are. The other grandchildren will be here by this time next Sunday evening. Have a great day and I'll keep in touch.

It's 3:15am, how are you? We're good here. Tonight and then Sunday night should be the last night that you find me blogging during the night. I'm going to go home and spend the night on Monday. It's time to begin to let the kids handle their little bundle of joy on their own. They can do it though!!! They are doing well. The night's are the hardest on Kimberly because of the no sleep deal. Zachary is eating great and doing wonderful. Les told her that he was tired because he stayed up late the other night. Kimberly commented about it-it was funny. I have enjoyed being here with them but our other 2 grandchildren will be here in 1 week. One nice thing is that I'm not far away and can be here in a few short minutes. Of course that few short minutes may seem like hours to them when they are really tired and having a screaming baby. As my friend, Linda, told some people with a little sleeping baby, "him??? screaming??? I can't belleve it!! He's sleeping so peacefully!!!" Of course she was teasing them. They told us that it took 4 adults to take care of this little sleeping baby. The husband said that he ended up going to a friend's house to sleep while her mom, aunt, and the new mom tried to take care of their little guy. This little guy was about the size of Zachary. It was funny. Les has been so sweet to me-allowing me to invade his privacy and to be here with them. He's appreciative because at least someone is here that knows what they are doing. I've teased him about going to diapering 101 and such. Well, I'll close now because I still need to add some pictures-NEW ones at that.

Well we have had some conversations with Dr. Eastman today and we think we have an idea of what's going on with baby Zachary. Even though the newborn screening tests that they do for 25-30 tests showed all of his were negative, his uncle Kevin (Les' brother) and his cousin Mattie have a rare trait for thalasemia which causes anemia that is untreated with iron. Anyway, as stands now, we are still going to Children's on Monday for the GI Dr. to look again at his liver, spleen, kidneys because of the bilirubin test. Dr. Eastman is waiting to hear from the hematologist that took care of Mattie and Kevin. We're hopeful to see him Monday or sometime next week. Meanwhile, he's the sweetest little guy. Again, so wish we could have been with Caleb and Caitlyn during this time but only God knows why we weren't. We're just so exctied to see them ina little over 1 weeks time!!!!!!! Love to all.

Good morning everyone, Well, we had a short night last night-we were up more than what we wanted but we're doing better now. Kimberly is sleeping and I'm picking up around the house. Weather is cloudy but that's okay. We're just waiting for Dr. Eastman's office to call with lab results. Zachary is laying in his bed, watching his mobile for the time being. He's so sweet and I thank God for bringing to us. I also praise God for our precious Caleb and Caitlyn. We just sent the pictures of Zachary to the kids so I can't wait to see what they think of him. Christopher goes to get them in a little over a week!!! Man, time flies! I can't believe they'll be here in a little over a week. I haven't seen them since January so can't wait to see them. We get them all summer long!!!! Can't wait for that for sure. You all have a great day.

Hello this rainy Wed. afternoon. Well we were busy but Kimberly didn't get to see her Dr. She had surgery or something. Zachary went though and he got a good report. Dr. Eastman said his color was improving, his appetite is good, everything else is good. His weight was up 7 oz!! He weighed 5 pounds 15.2 oz. He's grown 1/2 inch and his head had also grown 1 3/4 inches. He was pleased. Part of the lab work last week was still elevated so he did some more today and then we'll go from there as to what to do. No answers yet but he is encouraged. Just keep the prayers going for him please and we'll keep you posted as we know what's going on. Thank you!!!
Good morning, I was too tired to blog early this morning. This was a 2 timer during the night and I'd be in bed now but we have Dr. day. I gotta get the ship rolling here in a few minutes but I thought I'd let both of the sleep a little longer (Les included:) ). I also want to thank my ABF class for their continued prayers and for Les and Kimberly's class for the meals. You are all good cooks!!! I have a special request for a friend of mine who is facing breast cancer and doesn't know what they are going to do next so would you pray for Laura. I've had breast cancer and uterine cancer so I know how she feels not knowing what's going to take place. I just found out about it myself so I'm praying for her. You know prayer is a marvelous thing!!! It's a VERY STRONG power in the time of need or at anytime for that matter. If you don't pray, try it!!! It's a comfort to know that our Lord listens to us and answers us through prayer and also by other ways. I'm so glad that I have Him to talk to and I know he listens to my needs and requests. I hope you all have a great day today and I'll blog an update on a special little boy.

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!! Zachary's first state mandated blood tests came back all normal!!!!!!!! We're so thrilled!!!! Right now he's sleeping so he doesn't know how happy everyone is over his tests results!! I'm sure he really cares about that. He gets another test tomorrow. It's the 2nd neonatal screen and maybe other just bloodwork. We'll keep you posted.
Good morning all, I hope you are sleeping well. It's amazing what a shut-eye will do for you!!! I went to bed at 9pm. I woke up 2 1/2 hours later in the same position. I hope I get a little more here when the midnight raid on the icebox is over. It's 3am. Tomorrow is the big day at the Dr. for both Zachary and Kimberly. Les is off and so we'll have a fun day out. Dr., lunch, Dr., home. It'll be a long day tomorrow for all of us. New learning experience though as to how much time it takes to go out with a little one. I can't believe he's already 2 weeks old!! and we're 2 weeks closer to seeing Caleb and Caitlyn who will get here on the 5th. Yippeeeeeeeeeee. Do I hear "family picture" for Easter? You know me and my pictures. I have some I need to get printed-from our ABF class or Sunday School. Our newest members. We have a great ABF!!! a praying group of friends. Just keep remembering my brothers: Wayne, Larry, and Clayton. I pray for them everyday. They are the bestest brother's a girl could have. I'm so glad that God gave me such a great group of siblings. They are all special to me in their own way. Each one has their own special unspoken requests in my heart that I appreciate you praying for them. I claim Jer. 29: 11-13 for each. My brother, Larry, is experiencing some rough times right now where he knows Who is carrying him through. He told me that he can tell that his footprints are lighter in the sand because he has given over more to Jesus and Jesus is carrying the load. Keep up the good work Wa-wee. It's so neat how the scriptures apply to everyday stuff. The Proverb I read last night for the 23rd had a lot to say also. I try to do that everyday of the month. One Proverb for each day. I don't always succeed and I usually have to play catch-up but God understands. Well, hopefully we'll get some more sleep here in a little bit. Sleep well the rest of the night!!!

Monday, March 23, 2009

Good evening all!!!! Well, we had a good day today. We were out some and we enjoyed being out. A friend came over and brought us the most wonderful pecan pie!!!! Oh man, it is yummy. Had some before dinner. Zachary got some good reports today on his lab work from last week. It was good and Dr. Eastman will see him on Wed. and see how his color is. We think his color is doing better. When he's awake he's so watching what is going on and it's fun to watch him look around. I got pictures ready to send to Caleb and Caitlyn today. We will send them this week so they will have them to examine and to get a closer look at their new little cousin. Kimberly is doing well today. She got more sleep than I did so I'm going to bed early. I'm tired!! Anyway, you all have a good evening. Oh yeah, Christopher started coaching a kids soccer team today at church. I'm excited for him to do that. He has 1st and 2nd grade kids. I'm not sure if it's a mixed group or just boys or girls. Anyway, I'm happy for him. He's really liking his new job. He works pretty fast so he tends to not have a lot to do at some points in time. I tell him to keep asking for other stuff to do. Not much else going on around here because Zachary is asleep and we actually got to eat dinner together. I'm praying for rain but not real severe storms. That's not fun. Keep my brother, Larry, in your prayers. I'm so very proud of him. Keep up the good work bro. You all have a good evening and stay dry.
Good morning world!! Well, I was way too tired to write during the night!!! Kimberly and I slept in a little this morning and here it is 10:33 and Zachary is still sleeping from his 7:00 feeding. If he's still not awake in a few minutes, we'll go back to bed for a little bit. I bet that we won't make it though :) We had a good nutritious breakfast, and I'm going to leave Kimberly alone for a little bit as my brother is sick and I have to meet him at the Dr. office. Never a still moment. I think Zachary feels a little heavier to me this morning. I sure hope so. He looks great!!! He's so interested in everything-he looks all around and especially the bright lights of his toys. I hope you all have a great day as we will.

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Good evening everyone. We had a great day today. Zachary met a few people today and he was impressed!! He's such a cutie. I fixed pictures up today for Caleb and Caitlyn and will get them into the mail as soon as I can. They are excited to meet their new cousin!!!! Kimberly and I are going to bed early tonight since we were up some extra time last night. I'm glad it's not raining tonight!! Looks like tomorrow night it should rain--we need it. I hope you all have a good week and come and see Zachary!!!
Good morning everyone!!!! It's 3:30am, do you know where your children are??? I know where my daughter and little Zachary are--we're hangin' out in the living room, eating and drinking, or rather should I say a little person is eating. I praise God that we can be a part of the kids' lives!!!! I only wish we could have been a part of our 2 older grandchildren's lives. We love them so much and truly miss seeing them grow on weekly or monthly basis. We get to hear their little voices when they talk to their daddy and they are excited to be coming down for a week. They love aunt KK and uncle Les so much and are so happy about baby Zachary. We're all excited about Zachary's upcoming Dr. appt to see if he's gaining weight, growing, etc. Well, I'll go for now. Everyone sleep well, we will after our mid-night snack or rather someone's midnight snack at 3am.

Christopher was talking to his kids while he was feeding Zachary. Caleb and Caitlyn can't wait to see him live in living color. Caleb says he looks like an old man and Caitlyn started singing to him. That was so cute in her doing that. Les and Zachary nose to nose. Isn't that sweet? Zachary grabbed Les' nose and tried to suck on it. It surprised Les when he did that. I thought you all you enjoy seeing him getting his first bath at home. He really did well. The others are him in his Jamaican hat and then Kimberly reading a book to him. You can see he was happy until bath time. Poppy is holding Zachary right now while Kimberly and Les got out a little bit. You know you get cabin fever when you don't get to get out much. Poppy and Zachary are playing airplane bomber-he's making noises at him like an airplane dropping bombs. It's really cute.
Man, it's been a beautiful day today!!! We've had a great day. Kimberly and I both got sleep last night and she's been resting and I've been holding Zachary for awhile. That's the fun part. So wish we could have enjoyed Caleb and Caitlyn as much but now that they are older they love being involved in our lives here in Texas. When I get to my computer, I have to add some pictures of them to this. I've been busy doing stuff around the house that Kimberly hasn't been able to do for several weeks. It's fun helping her. Bryan and Les are on their way here. Les worked today and Bryan has been with his parents so I better run for now. Have a great evening. I still have some unspoken requests but God is working in a big way in my family. Thank you for the prayers!!!!!!!

Well today is a new day. Zachary has been so good today. Hopefully Kimberly and I will get to sleep sometime tonight. He's such a cutie. We didn't get the lab results today-so I guess on Monday, we'll find out about his blood then. He goes for his first check-up on Wednesday. You all have a good weekend.
It's 4:45am now. Grammy's been up for quite awhile and finally had to wake Mommy as I couldn't get him back to sleep without something else to eat. All the extra milk was frozen. That'll teach Grammy to not be prepared!! He's a real chow hound. Well, hopefully now he'll be able to sleep for awhile and so will Grammy.
Well good morning world. It's 1:45 and Kimberly, Zachary, and I are spending quality time together. Rather I should say that Zachary is eating!!! He had his first bath at home last evening. I was surprised that he didn't scream his little heart out, but he didn't. His mommy and daddy watched on as I bathed him. They were proud of their little man. He's so cute--kind of little, well, more than kind of and has such a sweet face. My grandson, Caleb, said that he looked like a little ole man. I told him that a lot of little babies look like that. In fact, his daddy did also. Caitlyn was singing to him over the phone. They are excited to see Zachary when they come down. He really is a good little baby. Sleep tight everyone and by the way, I have several unspoken prayer requests that you can ask the Lord to bless and take care of them. Thank you. Our God is so good to answer all prayer requests. One is for wisdom in counseling and the others, He knows. He is in the miracle working business. Good night.

Hello everyone, We have the sweetest new grandbaby!!! Our other 2 grandchildren can't wait to meet their new little cousin. He's a good baby so far. He had more bloodwork done today and he did well while they stuck him. Poor little guy. Kimberly gets the results tomorrow so we're excited to see how Zachary is doing. Kimberly is feeling good-not moving too slow either. Les is doing great at becoming a new daddy. We've had a few laughs along the way though. It's great working with them to see the excitement on their faces over their little boy. They are special parents. They both waited a long time for this moment. We've been working in Zachary's room today getting the rest of it organized. Thank you to their ABF class at church for providing meals 3 times a week. It really helps. Well, a little boy is waking up so I'll go for now and get him changed and ready to eat. Have a great evening.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Good morning everyone!!! Well, it's been a long time since I wrote on this thing but we have all sorts of exciting things going on. Right now, we're at the hospital awaiting a little baby boy to come into the world. Kimberly and Les are expecting their first baby. Here he is pouting, at 32 weeks pregnant. We did the 3-D sonograms and it was so neat to see him on a regular basis. I'll add pictures of Caleb and Caitlyn when I get to my computer. Right now, I'm using Kimberly's computer at the hospital. Oh yeah, you all didn't even know that Kimberly got married back in October of 2007. Les is a wonderful guy and we're so glad that he came into our lives as a son. He's a great addition to our family. Christopher went through a divorce in 08. His children are still in Maryland. We do get to see them and get to talk to them 3 times a week. They'll be here at Easter and will get to see the new baby. We've called him Baby C the whole pregnancy. Caleb will be 8 in May and Caitlyn will be 4 in April. They want their birthday parties here so that will be fun. We're working on that plan now. Bryan and I are good and very happy with life right now. You all have a great day and God Bless You.
