Good morning to all of my friends and family. I'm doing awesome today. It's a gorgeous day out there. It's COOL!!!! Zachary spent the night last night. He asks quite frequently to stay. We enjoy him so much. One of these days, Sadie, will be old enough to stay. Just wish Caleb and Caitlyn were here to stay also!!! We miss those babies so much. Not much is going on right now. Just enjoying the cool weather. Speaking of Sadie a minute ago, she is cutting her first 2 bottom teeth!! One minute they weren't there, and the next minute there they are. Hard to believe she's already 6 months old. She's setting up also! I need to have some pictures of her made. I found one of my baby pictures and also the dress I was wearing at the time so I'm going to put her in the dress and have pictures made! Well, I'll close for now so take care and God Bless.
I have some prayer requests.

1st-one of Caleb and Caitlyn's relatives has stage 4 breast cancer. They found it after she had a baby. She's in Houston right now. I'll try to keep you posted. I hope she TRULY knows Jesus in her heart also.
2. My friend Patti has bone cancer now. Had breast cancer with a double mastectomy about 8 years ago.
3.My friend Rita also has breast cancer that has spread to other areas.
4. Me-seeing all of this is so scary to me but I KNOW Who is walking with me on this road. I pray He gives me continued good health in order to do His will.

Thanks so much and have an awesome day.

Hello everyone, the kids had to go back to Maryland on Saturday. The child exchange went well but of course Christopher had protection this time. Thank you Maryland State Police. We had such a great time with them this summer. They are so sweet and we love them so much. I just took the day off sort of. Did some laundry, prayer time, and just rested. Kimberly wants us to eat supper with her and the kids tonight at Cotton Patch Cafe so we'll meet her in a little bit. Not much else going on at this time-I'm doing well. My scans were good and my Herceptin continues for awhile. I don't know when it will quit either so that's good. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll be more faithful to write more often.
I do have something new. Sadie is drinking from a straw now and is only 5 1/2 months old. I'm so proud of her. Little sugarfoot girl. I'll post a picture of her taking my straw and not letting go of it!!

Christopher is having a wonderful time in Maryland with the kids!! Praise the Lord. He's been able to go to Caleb's ballgames. Caleb asked him to go and Christopher was thrilled. Caitlyn said that she can't wait to get to Big D so Grammy can wash her hair in the kitchen sink. She's so precious in our sight!!! Caleb REALLY wanted to be in Dallas instead of Maryland for the 3 extra days but that's okay. Some day he'll understand. We're going Easter dress shopping on Friday morning as we have a birthday party that evening for Zachary and then on Saturday, we have birthday parties for Christopher, Caleb, Caitlyn, Staci so we'll be busy!!! On Sunday, it's Easter Sunday praise and thank you Jesus!!!!! Such an exciting time. We get to take the kids to an indoor football game in Allen on Saturday where they are doing a survivor event that evening and I've been asked to speak. I've been studying on a verse that my pastor gave to me. It's 2 Sam. 23:2, which reads, "The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. " I want His Light to shine through whatever He lays on my heart to say. I would appreciate your prayers. Love to all!!!!

Hello to everyone this beautiful spring morning!!! What a glorious day it is. I have my Herceptin today so will be excited to see my friends at Medical City. Then I'm going to play photographer for Kimberly and Les and take pictures of them in the bluebonnets. It should be a fun day. I'm excited. We, as a family, are so excited also because Caleb and Caitlyn will be here in only 1 week!!!! So much fun. I know they are excited because they will get to meet Miss Sadie Jewell and Zachary always looks at pictures of them and gets so excited so we will have a wonderful time!!! Praise the Lord. Spring is so much fun around here in Texas. I hope you all have a wonderful day also and enjoy the wonderful weather. God Bless and remember He Is Risen!!

Hello everyone. Today was my chemo treatment # 4 along with my Dr. visit. Dr. Brook's said I was doing well, and he was pleased with my progress. I had one of of the Cancer marker tests back and it was all within normal limits so I was excited about it. Praise the Lord. My treatment was about 3 hours so it was a shorter day. The grand children will be here on Sunday so I'm going to rest as much as I can this week so I'll hopefully feel good while they are here. We can't wait to see them and they are excited to be coming down. We're already trying to make some plans for them, I just hope I can participate in the plans but at least they'll understand what's going on with me. As long as they see that I'm healthy and doing well, then that's okay. Unfortunately my last treatment has to be the day that they come for Christmas. I was hoping to put it off for a week but Dr. Brooks said that I needed to keep to the schedule. I will also have the PET scan the week they are here. I'll be glad to start the new year with good results. I hope you all have a good evening and a great rest of the week. Love you all.

Hello everyone, Well the countdown is like 1 1/2 days or so til surgery. I can't wait to get it over with. I talked a long time with a nurse from Medical City with a 6 page paper to fill out over the phone. We had a great day today. Kimberly and I took the kids to the C. R. Smith Museum at the training academy for American Airlines. My dad was a personal friend of C. R. many years ago. While there, we got to go into the training academy and look at "the wall" of honor you might say for those men that did great things for American Airlines and also for the people of the U. S. My dad is on that wall for several distinguished service awards! Caleb and Caitlyn were thrilled to learn more about Grandpa Brown and to go into one of the first airplanes that I ever flew in! They were shocked!!! We took many things to the museum that will be helpful in telling others all about AA in the "early days". Great fun. Be praying for Dr. Laidley and Sheryl, her assistant, that helps with surgery. Pray for my family also. I have a few new pictures to add to this page so here it goes. I'll see if I can do these in an orderly fashion. Yeah right. This is Caitlyn's Mutton Busting award that she got for being an excellent mutton buster! Here I am in my creation. My breast cancer hats-the left one is for 6 years, the right is for newly diagnosed!! I had fun with this. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy a smile or 2. Have a great night and remember that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you on a horrible cross.

Well, here I am again. I've had a great day. Did some errands with a friend and laughed a lot. I'm very excited also. On Wed. we are taking the kids to the C. R. Smith museum and also to the American Airlines training center. I'm taking some historical things to the museum which is all about American Airlines. Then we are going to the training center to read and see the "wall" that they have there for employees that have done a lot of good things not only for AA but also for the preservation of our great country and many history things. That's where my dad fits in. He was very active with his 33 years of flying for AA. He also did many great and wonderful things for his fellow human beings. It will be so neat to see "the wall" again because it's been years since we were allowed to go into the training center for the pilots as well as the flight attendants. Caleb is very excited and so is Caitlyn. They want to learn all about the good things that Grandpa Brown did while he was alive and the lasting impressions that my dad left on people. One of the things my dad did was to save an airplane, crew, passengers back in the 70's when he was hit by a tornado. There was no knowledge at the time about "straight line winds" and not only did daddy experience a tornado in the air but also experienced the first straight line winds that everyone survived. He received not 1 but 2 distinguished awards from AA for doing what he did to help in the survival of everyone. This is a man that barely got out of high school!! My dad was a brillant man. He was also a great history buff. I could go on and on about him and all the wonderful things he did in his life. The kids and I were working on the "ministry opportunity" that our church is doing in a couple of weeks. They both picked out 2 sets of clothes for boys and girls, help purchase new socks, underwear, etc. We took it all to church today along with the water they need, cookies also. They were very happy to be serving others. I'm so glad they are here. I told them they could even help me after surgery and they are so willing to be involved. Thank you Lord for these 2 wonderful kids. I'm going to have to change my description of myself because we are expecting another grandbaby in March. While Kimberly and I were looking at "the blob with a heartbeat" I was searching for a pink bow. Nothing yet-ha. It won't be til October that we hopefully will find out what "it" is. Right now, it is Baby C #2. Caleb and Caitlyn were so thrilled to find out about another cousin!!! Excited isn't a word I'd use-more like delirious!!! When they come in the spring, the baby should be here. That's so neat for them to be here about the time it comes. Well, I'm going to go for now. That's all the news I have. I'm at peace with this week, looking forward to moving on, and I know that Jesus is holding my hand and leading me into this next valley. It's going to be okay. He is in control. Love you all and thank you for reading my blog.

Monday, July 19, 2010

Well, I put a few pictures of the trip on here for you to enjoy. Now for the day I had. 1st this morning, I had to go to the "hand surgeon" to see how the break is doing. My hand is healing very slowly so he has curtailed my "right hand activity" for another month because I'm still in pain. Oh well, at least he said we're not looking at surgery because I am building new bone. Praise the Lord. Next, I had to have another biopsy today. My mammogram was great but my Dr. noticed a 1 cm. lymph node that didn't look right. She took samples of it today for slides and also a little of the node. She said that if she doesn't like the results, she will take it out. I hope I don't have to have surgery!! I'm just praying and I know that God is in control. satan won't defeat me, I just praise God for putting Dr. Laidley into my life!! I adore her-she's such an awesome Dr. Anyway, I should find out the results Wed. but probably Thursday. I'll keep you posted as to the developments. I hope you all have a great day and a blessed week.

Gee, I can't believe it's been so long since I wrote on my blog. Many things have happened since then. Kimberly is now a Pampered Chef chef and doing well. Kimberly, Zachary and I went to Missouri last week because we were putting new flowers on graves of my family. My mom and I used to make little fun trips so we decided that we wanted to do the same thing. Springfield was just the first trip of hopefully many to come. We had a great time. Zachary is now 14 months old today-that's hard to believe also. Bryan and I are going to Key West next week to see my brother Larry who lives on his boat, Cigano. We'll be there for a week and then we'll get back, have a party for the twins and be ready to leave again for the Silverleaf timeshare in Canyon Lake, Texas. Shortly after that, Caleb and Caitlyn will be arriving for the summer!!! So excited about that!! We have vacation plans galore with them, so it'll be a busy summer. I've included a couple of pictures of Z and later on, there will be MANY of Caleb and Caitlyn!!! I am going to try and download a cute video of Bryan and Duchess. I hope you all have a great week. I will when I start feeling better-sinus again. See ya'll later and remember Jesus loves you.

WHO DOES SAINT'S????? Way to go guys!!! So proud of you all. Our Sunday School teacher said that he felt the Saint's would win because Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a Colt!! I thought that was great. We had our Sunday School class(Adult Bible Fellowship-ABF) over and we had a great time. We had about 12-15 or so. Duchess didn't know what to do with so many people to try and beg from!!! hahaha. No I still don't have any Hawaii pictures ready to go yet. I'm still having dental problems still-no root canal tomorrow because of the infection. I'm beginning to wonder if I need a different antibiotic. Will check that out tomorrow. Still on pain meds too!!! I DID start working with a Personal Trainer at the natatorium last week. I'm trying to prevent myself from injuring myself by doing too much. I'm going to loose the weight and get stronger also. I'm excited. I just got to get this mouth fixed first before I can really get into it. The pain just wears me out!! I may have a picture of Zachary getting his first haircut on this computer. I'll have to check. I wanted to move this picture on down but I couldn't get it to go. This is a picture of "the twins" in Zachary's bed together. It's hard to believe that Zachary is almost 11 months old and that Kodi is only 1 week behind him. Kimberly has Kodi in some obedience training-she's kind of hard to get to follow directions. Of course Kodiak was easy to train but she was trained in a different way. Duchess is laying right here beside me on the couch all stretched out on her back with her feet in the air. She had a busy evening in her "saint" attire. Of course she wore her black coat and had yellow bows in her hair. She was sure hoping that people would feel sorry for her and give her snacks also. Zachary was the only one that contributed a cracker to her and boy she gobbled it up as if it was steak. I'm going to close for now so you all have a great week and I'll write again soon. Hey, while I'm thinking about it-if you'd like to help the people of Haiti, our church is working with the mission board and have a great plan. You can go to www.cottonwoodcreek.org and look for a page about the buckets for Haiti. There are specific directions and specific foodstuff's they need. We're doing it all this month. If you want to help but would rather just give money, you can do that too either to me and I'll use it to put together buckets or send donations to the church. This is a great mission project. Love to all!!!!!

A--Lo----HAAAAAA, We had a wonderful time in Hawaii!!! The cruise was wonderful. David and Linda really enjoyed it and so did we. Kauai is my favorite of the islands and I'd live there if I was asked to move there for some reason. We took a helicopter trip over it and it is beautiful. I was disappointed though because Kilauea wasn't flowing any lava so the rest didn't get to see anything like that. We had a really good time. We're home now and then next week, Bryan and I are going to our resort in Galveston for several days. That should be great to. After I take time to get the pictures put onto the computer, I'll post a few. While we were gone, Zachary cut another tooth and has another pushing through. That would bring the total to 5. He's really crawling now, pulling up, and babbles some. Da-da, ma-ma, ba-ba, and then just whatever. We are doing okay. I've started working with a personal trainer to help me get myself back in order. We've only met 1 time though, so it should be an adventure. Keep you posted. Okay gotta go so I can do tax stuff for the IRS :( Have a great day.

Good afternoon everyone. I can't believe that the end of the year is here!!!! I'm glad in many ways and just can't believe it went too fast in others. We've had such a good time with Caleb and Caitlyn these last 2 weeks. I'll have to post more and include pictures when I get the chance. They are so precious. We enjoy their visits so much and they are so lovable. Well gonna go for now so write to me when you can and remember Jesus loves YOU>

Hey everyone, We have a house full of such joy tonight!!!!!!!! We had all 3 of our grandchildren with us today. So much fun. We made cookies, presents, went to the Dr.-Caleb has an ear infection, shopping, just all kinds of stuff. So much fun. I'm so thankful to God for allowing us the privilege to spend quality time with our little ones. Kimberly is a stay at home mom so she helped make cookies with the kids. Thank you Toot-they are so good and she helped them decorate and cut and bake, etc. Christopher is off so he gets the full time with the kids also. So great!!!!!! Les is hunting and I hope he gets a buck. We are doing well and loving this season. Thank You God for sending us your son to save us from eternal death and separation from you. I'm so glad You are my Savior, Deliverer, Lover of my Soul, Physician, Friend, Confidant, Provider, shall I keep going???????? Merry Christ-mas to all of you!!!!!! Keep Christ in Christmas-it's His birthday afterall!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, Sorry it's been quite a while since I have added anything to this. Later I'll add pictures as my friend, Cheryl, and I went to "The House of Mouse" last week. We had an absolute ball!!! It was so much fun. I'll have to post one of the pictures of us on a ride. Cheryl and I first met when we worked at Plano General Hospital 30 years ago!! We worked in the Nursery on the "house-wife shift"- 5-9:30 pm shift. I LOVED it!!!! Anyway, then we worked at pedi offices, ran clinics, etc. throughout the years. Thanks Cheryl AND Amanda for allowing me to go!!! I really had a great time. I got all of my grandchildren's Christmas shopping done-and a few adults too. Now, preparing for "Turkey Day" and Black Friday. I LOVE shopping on that day!!! Crazy huh? Yep, that's me. I'm so glad that I made it back from the U. K. safely!!!! hahahahahaha. Anyway, I'll post stuff later on. Have a blessed day and remember to be Thankful for ALL we have here in America and also Thank some soldiers along the way for our freedoms!! Even if they aren't in uniform-if they have grey hair, they were in the military and you can thank them too!!!! Love ya'll.

Hey everyone, Well I hope everyone is having a great day like I am. I had my brother out for awhile and he really enjoyed it, even in the rain. Duchess doesn't like getting her feet wet very much. She's a real sweetie. I haven't gotten really any good pictures of her yet so will include them next time. I DO, however, have some new sweet pictures of the Cornelius family that were taken at the Celina Pumpkin Festival. I know you'll enjoy them. Kimberly added a new dog to their family. His name is Ozzy and he is a resuce dog also. He looks alot like Kodiak but he sure doesn't act like her!!!! He is part sheperd also and he's a pretty rough big toughie. They are going to have some obedience training with Kodi and Ozzy. Kimberly still isn't sure about keeping him because of her allergies. I told her to bathe him and see if that helps. He's almost 11 months old. Pictures included also of them. Our nephew, Danny and his wife Melody had a baby 3 weeks ago- 09-29-09. His name is Nathan and here is a picture with his mommy. He's a cutie also but so little compared with Zachary!!!! We are all doing well. We got Bryan's parents apartment cleaned out-which was so weird to us. We remember 6 years ago, excitedly moving them into the apartments and how thrilled we were to have them here with us and now... We know they are both with Jesus and each other. I told Mom to hug my parents for me and tell them I loved them. Well, gotta go get supper on. We're having soup and sandwich this evening. Yummy!!! Potato soup with ham, celery, carrots, broccoli and cheese added in!! Perfect for a rainy evening. Love ya'll.

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Hello world!!!! Sorry I haven't written in awhile but have been busy. We've been trying to pack up Bryan's parents stuff and get their apartment cleaned and ready to give back to them. It's really weird to know that 6 short years ago, we moved them here and now we're cleaning out the apartment and getting rid of stuff. On a lighter note though, Duchess is sure fitting in well to our family. She's such a sweetie and a really good girl. She LOVES frozen carrots and green beans and will do anything you want her to in order to get some. She is learning some tricks now. She can sit, speak, learning to shake, she will go "down", go in a circle both ways, etc. Whatever else we can think of to teach her. Well, gotta go for now. Zachary is staying with us and just woke up from a nap!!!!!! God Bless You All, Have a blessed afternoon!!!!!!

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

Gee, I can't believe it was the 3rd that I last posted. We had news that night-Bryan's mom went home to be with the Lord around 10pm that night. She was soooo ready to meet Jesus, see her husband, and all her other family and friends that she hadn't seen in many many years. We will miss her but I KNOW she's extremely happy!! Her last words a few days before she passed on was what she said when she looked at Zachary. She had a sweet smile and opened her eyes and said, "Oh the baby" at that, she closed her eyes and never said another word. Onto a lighter note.

We are looking for a dog to adopt. I've filled out apps all over for different places to adopt. We're looking at a smaller dog that has longer hair. It is fun looking at all of these dogs!!! So many!!! I'll keep you posted on our discovery. We're going to go see a little dog by the name of Sharla Bear. She's a mix of Chihuahua/Pomeranian and she is so cute. She weighs about 8 pounds. Anyway, I'll let you all know the latest developments!!! Not much else happening right now so I'll let you go and I'll write more later. Remember Jesus loves YOU!!! yes even YOU!!!

Saturday, October 03, 2009

Good morning world!!!! It's so gorgeous outside!!!! I got to work in Dr. Eastman's office the last 2 days. It was fun. We were really busy giving flu mist and then we had some swine flu patients. I'm so glad that I don't do this full time!!! It was fun though. Today, I get to watch Zachary for a little while today while Kimberly and Kodi go to the dog park and play. I'm going to visit my mother in law although she doesn't respond back. It's so sad to see her this way. I wish the Lord would let her come on home. I had great lasagna for dinner last night. Kimberly cooked!!! It was a new recipe that you make in the crock pot and it was great. Good going girlie!!! I'm going to be walking for Alzheimer's the end of this month in honor of several people that I know. If you'd like to join the team and walk or support us, contact me.(I don't remember how to pull up my page right now-hahaha) I may be walking in MY honor to-I don't know!!! Anyway, it's for a great cause. I hope you all have a great day today and a beautiful weekend. Be sure and go to church somewhere!!!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

WOW!!!! I had a wonderful time last night!!! I went to my 40th year high school reunion and we had a great time!! It was so much fun to see people that I graduated with and how our lives have crossed and we didn't know it. I even ran into one of the mom's of one of the children from my nursing days. She's now married to my classmate!! How cool. It was just a lot of fun and thanks to everyone that made this weekend a special one. I have been praying for our "fallen Eagles" from our class and for their families. Today was Zachary's baby dedication also. It was a neat program and all the mommies and daddies promised that they would raise their child in God's pattern for our lives. Of course we thought that Zachary was the cutest baby up there!!! Then we went to eat barbecue at Dickey's. Yummy, and it was fun. Well, I'm going to get off for a while right now. Zachary stayed with us last night because Les had his 20 year reunion so I'm a little tired because I didn't get home til about midnight and Z woke me up at 4:30 telling me he was hungry and then the alarm went off at 7:00 am. See ya later.

Friday, September 25, 2009

Hey everyone, Well, we got back from Branson in time to hit the football game tonight between the Allen Eagles and the Plano West Wolves. We won--55-6!!! We had a WONDERFUL time in Branson. We went to several shows, enjoyed Silver Dollar City but it RAINED the first day!!! I was dry except for my feet!!!! Zachary stayed dry entirely. He's a great baby-he had fun, smiled, laughed, and had a ball. He enjoyed riding the train at SDC, rode the Ducks, and was all around a GREAT sport!!! Pictures to follow. We can't wait to take Caleb and Caitlyn there. They'll LOVE IT also!!! That will be their favorite vacation spot for awhile anyway. We are all good. Not much going on at home. I'm going to my 40th high school reunion this weekend! Les has his 20!!! Unreal. Bryan and Christopher is watching Zachary tomorrow night because it's Les' big dinner and also my get together. I have a memorial service in the morning for our "fallen Eagles". I graduated from Richardson High School in Richardson and we were "The Eagles!!" I'm excited. Well, not much else to say for now because I am tired from riding/driving today so will close for now. Take care and God Bless.
